Frequently Asked Questions
What services do you offer?
I specialize in:
Solo portraits (individuals, graduations, branding, etc.)
Couple portraits (engagements, anniversaries, etc.)
Family & Group portraits (any group of 3+ people)
How do I book a session with you?
Please fill out this brief questionnaire providing the details about what type of session you’re interested in and your ideal date. I will review and reach out to you as quickly as possible confirming my availability. This will also provide an opportunity for us to connect, get to know each other and get on the same page about the session.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. A retainer is required to secure your session date, with the remaining balance due by the session date. This ensures your spot is reserved and allows me to fully plan for your session.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes. I do ask my clients to sign a service agreement. This is valuable for both of us so we're clear on the commitments I am making as your photographer. It also helps ensure there is no confusion regarding session date, location, time, etc.
Once the service agreement is delivered via email, you have three calendar days to sign it. If unsigned within three days, the document will automatically expire. This is so other customers can request that date and book if they are committed.
How do I pay for my session?
I will send you an email containing your invoice. You will have options to checkout via secured credit or debit card managed by Stripe. You may also utilize popular peer-to-peer payment methods such as Venmo or Zelle.
If you are unable to find your invoice email, please be sure to check your spam/junk folder.
Why do photography prices vary so much?
Like most goods and services, photography is delivered at varying levels of quality and price points. This being the case, my prices are more than some and less than others. I sincerely believe my pricing represents fantastic value relative to the quality of my delivered product. That said, I also recognize we all have budget considerations to balance when making spending choices.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are typically held outdoors at a location we choose together. I have several favorite spots around the DFW area and can recommend locations based on the look you’re interested in. Studio sessions are available at additional cost.
What is the best time for a photoshoot?
If the session is outdoors, I always recommend shooting during the "golden hour" when sunlight is beautifully diffused by the Earth's atmosphere. This occurs approximately one hour prior to sunset and provides a soft glowing light that is particularly flattering for portraits.
If that isn't an option for you, I also recommend early morning sessions before the sun is too high in the sky. I do not shoot during the middle of the day when the sun is directly above.
If the session is in a home or studio, the lighting is under the control of the photographer and the time is less relevant.
How far in advance should I book?
I recommend booking 2–4 weeks in advance, especially during the spring and fall when photography demand is generally higher. That said, if you’re working with a tighter timeline, reach out to me and I'll make my best effort to find availability and give you an incredible session and experience.
What happens if the weather is bad?
I always keep a close eye on the weather forecast and will communicate with you leading up to the session if anything concerning develops. I prioritize your safety and will never shoot during adverse weather conditions such as high winds, rain, lightning, etc. If the weather doesn’t cooperate and we're unable to shoot, we’ll have to reschedule the session. I'll always make a good-faith attempt to accommodate a reschedule as quickly as possible.
How many pictures will I receive in my package?
Each of my packages includes a hand selected gallery of images professionally edited with intention and care. Image counts begin at ten then vary by package. The images are thoughtfully curated and provide you with a meaningful selection of the most impactful frames captured during our session. I always aim for quality over quantity.
Are any of your images AI generated?
Absolutely not. Every image in my portfolio was photographed by me using a camera, real subjects, and real locations. While I professionally edit my images for color, exposure, and retouching, I do not use AI image generation to create photographs or fabricate scenes that never existed.
Why do your images look different from many other photographers?
A significant part of my style comes from the intentional use of professional lighting. While many photographers rely exclusively on available natural light, I frequently incorporate off-camera flash techniques to create greater depth, dimension, and consistency throughout a session. This allows me to shape light rather than simply react to it.
The result is cleaner skin tones, stronger subject separation, and the polished, cinematic quality that many clients describe as having extra "pop" while still looking natural and authentic.
When will I receive my photos?
For solo, couples and group sessions, you’ll receive your online gallery within 10 business days of your session. From there, you can view, download, and share your images easily.
For events such as weddings, gallery delivery timelines may vary due to the greater number of images captured. I will communicate delivery estimates with you directly.
Are additional images available for purchase?
Yes. Additional images are available for you to view and purchase after your photographer's curated image gallery is delivered.
What should I wear to the photoshoot?
I typically recommend my clients wear solid, neutral, or earthy colors as these photograph best without creating distractions. I always recommend against busy patterns, polka-dots and similar looks that can take attention away from you in the picture. Choose outfits that fit well, avoid large logos, and consider textured fabrics like knits or denim for visual interest. If a group is being photographed, I recommend coordinating outfits within a subtle 2-3 color palette rather than everyone attempting to perfectly match. Ultimately, you should wear what makes you feel confident, comfortable and authentically yourself.
Do you have a social media presence?
