Frequently Asked Questions
I specialize in:
• Solo portraits (individuals, milestones, personal branding-style portraits)
• Couple portraits (engagements, anniversaries, just because)
• Family portraits (any group of 3+ people)
Please fill out the brief questionnaire on my website providing the details about what type of session you’re interested in and your ideal date. I will review and reach out to you as quickly as possible confirming my availability. This will also provide an opportunity for us to connect, get to know each other and get on the same page about the session.
Yes. A retainer is required to secure your session date, with the remaining balance due by the session date. This ensures your spot is reserved and allows me to fully plan for your session.
Yes. I do ask my clients to sign a service agreement. This is valuable for both of us so we're clear on the commitments I am making as your photographer. It also helps ensure there is no confusion regarding session date, location, time, etc.
I will send you an email containing your invoice. You will have options to checkout via secured credit or debit card managed by Stripe. You may also utilize popular peer-to-peer payment methods such as Venmo or Zelle.
If you are unable to find your invoice email, please be sure to check your spam/junk folder.
Like most goods and services, photography is delivered at varying levels of quality and price points. This being the case, my prices are more than some and less than others. I sincerely believe my pricing represents fantastic value relative to the quality of my delivered product. That said, I also recognize we all have budget considerations to balance when making spending choices.
Sessions are typically held outdoors at a location we choose together. I have several favorite spots around the DFW area and can recommend locations based on the look you’re interested in. Studio and in-home sessions are also available upon request.
If the session is outdoors, I always recommend shooting during the "golden hour" sunlight is most beautifully diffused by the Earth's atmosphere. This occurs approximately one hour prior to sunset and provides a soft glowing light that is particularly flattering for portraits.
I also recommend early morning sessions before the sun is too high in the sky.
If the session is in a home or studio, the lighting is under the control of the photographer and the time is less relevant.
I recommend booking 2–4 weeks in advance, especially during the spring and fall when photography demand is generally higher. That said, if you’re working with a tighter timeline, reach out to me and I'll make my best effort to find availability and give you an incredible session and experience.
I always keep a close eye on the forecast and will communicate with you leading up to the session. If the weather doesn’t cooperate and we're unable to shoot, we’ll have to reschedule. I'll always make a good-faith attempt to accommodate a reshoot as quickly as possible.
Each of my packages include a hand selected gallery of images professionally edited with intention and care. Image counts begin at ten then vary by package. The images are thoughtfully curated and provide you with a meaningful selection of the most impactful frames captured during our session. I always aim for quality over quantity.
For solo and group sessions, you’ll receive your online gallery within 10 business days of your session. From there, you can view, download, and share your images easily.
For events such as weddings, gallery delivery timelines may vary due to the greater number of images captured. I will communicate delivery estimates with you directly.
Yes. Additional images are available for you to view and purchase after your photographer's curated image gallery is delivered.
Once your session is booked, I’ll provide simple styling guidance to help you choose outfits that photograph well and feel like you. In general, neutral tones, minimal patterns, and coordinated (not matching) outfits work best.
I am in the Nikon ecosystem and only utilize modern professional grade equipment. That said, I want to stress to you that quality of equipment will not guarantee a stunning result. It is my years of experience, attention to detail, thoughtful compositions, creative use of depth of field and competent post processing that differentiates the quality of my work from my peers.
